About Antigua and Barbuda:
Located in the middle of the Leeward Islands of the
Eastern Caribbean, Antigua, (pronounced An-tee'ga),
is 108 square miles about 14 miles long and 11 miles wide.
Its highest point is Boggy Peak at 1319 ft. The current
population for the nation is approximately 68,000 and its
capital is St. John's. Barbuda, is TOTALLY different
a flat coral island with an area of only 68 square miles,
lies approximately 30 miles due north.
Antigua & Barbuda both enjoy a
glorious climate year round with soothing, steady, trade
winds. Temperatures usually vary between he mid 70's (about
24 degrees c.) in winter to the mid 80's (approximately 30
degrees c.) in summer. Antigua has a complex coastline with
a variety of harbours, marinas and idyllic beaches often
protected by coral reef. The island offers a variety of
attractions such as historic
Nelson's
Dockyard at English Harbour and Shirley Heights
Lookout, (spectacular views and Sunday night parties), a
small tropical rain forest, SUPERB sailing, world class
cricket, duty free
shopping and 365 beaches . Its even the ONLY PLACE
IN THE WORLD where you can
party with a
famed Star Wars veteran and chat about the creation
of the creatures for the classic trilogy.
