NICK MALEY'S ISLAND ARTS ANTIGUA W.I.

If you like art, movies or both, a visit to the ISLAND ARTS GALLERIES is a must. Besides offering delightful artworks and terrific deals, you may meet international artist, movie make-up wizard, and EMMY nominee Nick Maley, who was a key collaborator in the creation of Yoda for the Hollywood blockbuster STAR WARS. Nick traded his Ferrari for a sail boat in 1985 when he and his wife Gloria settled in Antigua.

Having exhibited at the Royal Ontario Museum and the Dominican Republic's Museum of Modern Art, Nick's paintings recently completed a three year world tour with the United Nations's Carib Art exhibition. His celebrated works reflect the serenity of simple living, a dry sense of humor, a sensitive understanding of the human condition and have been exhibited in 17 countries worldwide. Incredibly, Nick also contributed to 53 movies, including the SUPERMAN and HIGHLANDER sagas, and worked alongside megastars such as Marlon Brando, Katherine Hepburn, Anthony Hopkins and Robert Redford. He was featured in CINEMAX and HBO specials, won a place in The Guinness Book of World Records, and graced the cover of American Cinimatographer. In 1996, his directing debut won a medal at the worlds largest film festival, with over 3400 entries from 38 countries.

Nick's Gallery in Heritage Quay Duty Free Center is the only gallery in the Leeward Islands recommended by the Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines onboard port lecture program. Thousands of holiday makers and cruise line passengers have taken advantage of being in Antigua by investing in Nick's unique artwork at the lowest prices anywhere in the world. Now you can get to know him too by visiting his home, his gallery and reading his stories about what it was like to make STAR WARS and those other movies........ on his award winning website.... named "Best of the Web - special effects" by the BBC in 1998.
